After Applying for the Canada Experience Class Citizenship and Immigration
Canada will notify you in one of two ways:
- You will receive a letter indicating that your package has been received and
is being processed. If you have sent a complete application, your letter will
indicate your file number, some basic instructions on how to make enquiries
about your file and finally, the steps that must be taken after your file is
reviewed.
OR
- Your package will be returned, indicating you have submitted an incomplete
application. Sometimes applications containing errors lead to a visa denial.
Receiving a response from Citizenship and Immigration about your application may
take up to three months after applying.
Canadian Experience Class Interview
If your application is approved you and your dependants will then be granted a
meeting with an immigration officer who will determine your suitability for the
program. The meeting with a Canadian immigration officer will involve all of the
following:- The officer will ask you a few short questions to ensure you are still
eligible for Canadian permanent residence. These questions will be based on
information you have already provided on your application form.
- You will present your valid passport or travel document.
- You will present your valid residence visa and your confirmation of your
address.
Providing false or inaccurate information to the immigration officer is grounds
for denying your application. Applicants should provide truthful answers to all
questions.
Canadian Experience Class Application Approval
If the officer finds all of your supporting documentation to be in place, they
will grant you permanent resident status in Canada. Your Canadian mailing
address will be confirmed, and a permanent resident card for you and each of
your dependents will be mailed to this address.
