The Saskatchewan Business category for the Provincial Nominee Program of Immigration
lets Saskatchewan choose and nominate qualified business persons from all over the
globe who are able and willing to move to Saskatchewan and establish, purchase,
or invest in a business.
Business skills stream requirements
To be considered for the Saskatchewan Business category of provincial nomination,
applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have a minimum of 3 -5 years experience in business ownership or senior management;
- Have a minimum personal net worth of CDN $250,000;
- Visit Saskatchewan for at least five (5) working days to explore business opportunities
and attend a Visitation Seminar and interview with a Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee
Program Officer;
- Submit a Business Proposal;
- Make a minimum investment of CDN $150,000 into starting a business or buying an
existing one. You must have an active management role in the operation of the business;
- Own at least 33.3% of their business in Saskatchewan. If you intend to own less
than 33.3% of your business, you must invest a minimum of CDN $500,000 into the
business;
- Make a CDN $75,000 deposit into a trust account and sign a Performance Agreement
based on your Business Proposal.
Application Process
The application process for this category can be divided in four parts:
- Pre-Assessment: Applicants present their application form, net worth, and plan of
investment to the provincial government.
- Official Visit: Applicants whose applications pass the first part are invited to
visit the province to meet with government officials and make contacts.
- Formal Application: Prospective candidates present their business and relocation
plan.
- Request for Visa: Applicants who are nominated must present an application for permanent
residence to the Canadian visa office that has jurisdiction over their place of
residence.
