This guide will help you to apply for the Canada Experience Class of
immigration, which helps foreign nationals with a certain amount of work and
life experience live in Canada permanently. To apply you will need to make an
application and submit relevant supporting documents.

Download the Application Package
The application package contains all of the forms you will need to complete as
well as an instruction guide with information on how to complete the forms.

Read the ‘Instruction Guide’
It is recommended that you read the instruction guide carefully as all fees are
non-refundable. You should ensure you qualify for this program of immigration
before applying. The instruction guide gives detailed instructions on how to
apply for experience class immigration including:

- How to pay your fees
- Where to submit your application
Complete the Forms and Gather Supporting Documentation
Once you have read the instruction guide on how to properly complete the
application forms, you can fill them out. Remember to consult the document
checklist included within your application package to ensure you have the
necessary documents and forms when you submit your package.
Submit the Application
Applications should be mailed in to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. If you
are applying in Canada, you will mail your application to the
Canadian visa
office in Buffalo, NY, USA. If you are applying outside of Canada, you will mail
your application to a Canadian visa office in your home country.
Experience Class Fees
There are a few fees associated with this category of application:
- A processing fee for you and your dependants. This is paid when you submit
your application.
- The right of permanent residence fee, for you and your dependants. This is
paid before Citizenship and Immigration Canada issues your permanent resident
visa.
- A medical examination fee. This fee will be paid to the physician that
administers your medical exam, and will vary accordingly.
- A police certificate fee. This is only necessary if you require a police
certificate as part of your criminal background check.
- Language testing fees. If you require a language test to prove your skills in
English or French, you will pay a fee to the test administering authority.
