Before You Leave Your Homeland
The immigration application procedure is not a measurement of how successful you will be when you immigrant to Canada. It is a fact that you must pass the point system. But, it cannot tell whether you’ll succeed or fail in a career in Canada. Don't rely on the immigration process to become complacent that you’re sure to succeed. Trust your understandings of yourself instead.
Some newcomers are successful. Others are thwarted when they try to find suitable jobs. It takes time and effort to find good work, even for people born and educated in Canada. You can seek help when looking for a job, but no one can guarantee you a job.
Some professions and trades are regulated by professional regulatory organizations, which are provincial rather than national. Your international qualifications may not be recognized in provinces like Ontario, and you may have to get further training or take exams in order to re-qualify.
If you want to successfully find a job, you must find out what employers anticipate. If you have no planning or do no research while your application is being processed, you had better prepare for the worst situation.
In most cases, you need to file for the recognition of your qualifications shortly after you are in Canada. It is vitally important to have your credentials assessed. If possible, you should have done it before coming to Canada. There are assessments for educational purposes and employment purposes. If you want to get a license from any of the professional associations in Canada, a formal evaluation of your past academic credentials is required.
