Finding a Job

In Canada, people usually find full-time jobs. However, a rising percentage of people choose short-term or part-time jobs. Women occupy a large proportion of the labor force and many have important, senior positions.

Canadians may change jobs several times during their careers. Whether to change your job depends on yourself. Because of economic change, sometimes people must hunt for new jobs. Whatever the reasons are, it is not easy to get a good job. Lots of people are looking for jobs throughout Canada.

Rarely do newcomers to Canada go into the job market immediately and they often must start with jobs below the skill level they worked at in their motherland. But as long as they develop Canadian job experience and improve their English or French ability, they’ll have promising job prospects.
