Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates

Ontario

Immigroup can acquire the following certificates from the province of Ontario:

  • Marriage Certificates (Short Form), Long Form (Certified Copy)
    - Available for marriages that occurred during the past 80 years
    - Good for: divorce, immigration matters, proof of maiden/married name for passports

  • Death Certificates (Short Form), Long Form (Certified Copy)
    - Available for deaths that occurred during the past 70 years
    - Good for: insurance, burial abroad, state matters, family health

  • Marriage or Death Confirmation Letter
NOTE: Person named on death/marriage certificate must be registered with their municipal government agency in order to qualify for a death/marriage certificate.
> Entitlement to Certificates/Certified Copies (Long Form):

Marriage

  • either party to the marriage as named on the registration
  • children of the marriage if either party to the marriage is deceased
  • parents of a deceased party to the marriage
  • if either party to the marriage is deceased, the closest next-of-kin, executor, or estate trustee

Death

  • no restrictions on death certificates
  • certified photostatic copies of registrations are restricted to next-of-kin and their authorized representative
> Service Options:

Urgent Service includes the following:

  • Review of your completed application, submission to the Office of the Registrar General
  • Follow up and tracing of application, delivery of the completed certificate
  • Processed by the Government of Ontario within 3 days
  • This time frame is only an estimate. It is NOT guaranteed.
  • Marriage Long Form can be obtained within 3 days. Marriage Certificate can only be obtained within 3 days if the marriage took place 1980 or later.

Expedited Service includes the following:

  • Review of your completed application, submission to the Office of the Registrar General

  • Please allow at least 10-15 days for processing by the Government of Ontario
