FAQs
A consultation is a meeting between an applicant, or someone designated by the applicant, and a professional immigration practitioner to discuss the applicant’s immigration situation. During this meeting, the applicant’s circumstances and resulting eligibility are assessed, and we determine the best government category to apply under for your situation. We also determine any obstacles which could cause problems with your application and find the best solutions to these problems.
Any application can be completed on your own without the assistance of a representative. However, the benefit of a consultation is to determine any issues that could damage your application that you may not know about or understand before the application is submitted. Medical problems, criminal records, and previous immigration violations are just a few of the issues that can cause major roadblocks to applications being submitted, which can result in long delays in processing or outright refusal of an application. Issues which seem to be insignificant to the applicant can, in reality, cause serious problems for an application. Even if you decide not to retain a representative to assist you with the entire application process, a consultation can show you where you really stand in terms of the probable success of your application.
Some representatives are not honest with clients, preferring to take their money and give them false hope for the results of an application. At Immigroup, we understand that we are giving advice to our clients that has a very serious impact on their lives. To this end, we always advise the client to do what is best for them and their family, even if this means not applying or waiting until some time has passed to file an application, and even if this means that we do not stand to make money from a client who is willing to pay. To the staff at Immigroup, making sure that the clients are properly advised is what is most important.
Our immigration practitioners have over 10 years of experience working with CIC, USCIS, and other government agencies. They can save you the time of having to do research yourself, and they have knowledge that can only be learned from daily interaction with these government bodies. They have also filed thousands of successful applications since the company opened in 2004. By putting their years of experience and extensive knowledge to work for you, you can make sure that you understand all options available to you and that the application you submit is the best possible application it can be. Our office will also receive all correspondence from government agencies regarding your application and put the government’s words into an easy to understand format. We will also send the appropriate response to the government and keep you updated regarding the status of your application. Finally, if you have a question regarding your application, you can contact us any time during business hours. If the representative who has carriage of your file is not available immediately to take your call, we will contact you almost always the same day and never any later than one business day.
Depending on the type of immigration matter you need to discuss, you will speak with a different staff member. For matters regarding PR Cards, Canadian citizenship matters, immigration document matters (Record of Landing/IMM1000, Citizenship Certificate), passport applications, and other similar issues, you will speak with an immigration practitioner who has filed hundreds of applications and who has extensive experience in the immigration field.
For matters regarding sponsorship applications, applications on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, work permits / labour market opinions, inadmissibility issues, and other similar matters, you will speak with a Senior Immigration Practitioner with over 10 years of experience dealing with these and other types of Canadian and US immigration matters on a daily basis. You can be sure that you are receiving informed, expert, and honest advice.
This is the optimal amount of time needed to assess the various aspects of your situation and determine the best course to follow for your immigration matter. Very seldom does it take longer than this amount of time.
Many places which offer free consultations will give you very little information, getting you in and out in less than 10 minutes. They often do not listen to you or take your immigration matter seriously because you are not paying them. By paying the consultation fee, you are paying for the knowledge and expertise of years of experience to be applied to your specific case so that you can benefit directly.
At Immigroup, we will pay attention to you, we will take your case seriously, and we will give you an honest, expert opinion about where you stand.
Usually a consultation can be booked the same or next business day. Consultations in person or over the phone are available during business hours. Walk-ins are always welcome; however we recommend that you make an appointment ahead of time to avoid having to wait.
