MARRIAGE IN GUATEMALA
If you are a Canadian citizen of permanent resident and wish to be married in Guatemala, the following is a list of documents that must be presented to Guatemalan authorities. These are the documents required by the government of Guatemala in order to be married in Guatemala to a Guatemalan citizen:
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of single status
- Valid passport
- Two (2) Newspaper publications in Guatemala

Required Documents:
- Birth Certificate.
- Certificate of Never Married (issued by the provincial government).

- (2) New paper publications.
The contract of marriage must be done trough a public notary.
