Canadian Social Insurance Card
First-time applicants or Renewal of a Canadian Social Insurance Card (SIN Card):
- Immigroup can acquire both first and replacement social insurance cards.

We offer two services:
- 4 to 6 business day service - Please call before ordering this service.
- 3 to 6 week service by mail - Simply forward your SIN Card application to Immigroup and you will receive your card by mail in 3 to 6 weeks.
There are three simple steps involved when applying for a SIN Card:

Download and fill out a SIN Card application form including an order form. |

Courier the signed forms along with all required documentation to the government office. |

Receive you Canadian SIN Card in person, by mail or courier, depending on the service you purchased. |

STEP 1
- Application: Download Application
Download and print out an order form, SIN Card application, and authorization from here. Please fill out and sign all forms, including the order form.

Original Documents: The following original documents are required:
1. Primary document - this is your primary identity document, which proves your status in Canada. It could be any of the following: Canadian Birth Certificate, Citizenship Card, Record of Landing IMM 1000, Permanent Resident Card, Work Permit, or Study Permit. If you do not have any of the above documents because it has been lost, stolen, or destroyed, just click on the appropriate link above for details on how we can assist you in obtaining a replacement document.
2. If you are a parent or legal guardian signing an application for a Social Insurance Number on behalf of a minor, you must also provide your own identity document, ie provincial birth certificate, permanent resident card, citizenship card, work or study permit, etc. On a separate sheet of paper, the parent or legal guardian must also provide their social insurance number.
3. Supporting document - required when you would like to add a name on your SIN card, which does not appear on you primary document. It is also required when there is a name change due to a marriage.
All original documents will be returned to you.

STEP 3
Receive your Canadian Social Insurance Card including all of your original documents.
Service Options:
Regular Service:
Choose this option to receive your SIN Card within the province's regular delivery time frame. Current timelines are around 4-6 weeks. Your Social Insurance Card will be mailed to you along with your original documents.
Urgent Service:
Expedited service is available for an additional fee. Please call us before you order this service.
Additional Information:
- Processing time for Regular Service is usually within 4 to 6 weeks (does not include delivery)
- Processing time for Urgent Service is usually within 3 days (does not include delivery). Please note that a request for urgent service is only granted by Social Development Canada if the applicant requires the card for employment purposes.
- It is absolutely imperative that a signed and dated Authorization Letter accompanies your application in order for Immigroup to submit your SIN request on your behalf. A letter template is included with the document package available from this website.
