April 2020 - OINP Approved - Express Entry Profile Ineligible

Dear Members,

I got a Letter of Intent from Ontario on January 15, 2020, and Approved today April 22, 2020.

But the weird part is that my Express Entry Profile turned ineligible as soon as I got the OINP approval. Due to this, I'm unable to click on the "I Accept" button in my EE Profile.

I'm not sure why this happened as nothing has changed from the time I have created my profile.

Here are my timelines
Express Entry Creation - Oct 21, 2019 [ CRS: 463 ]
OINP Letter of Intent - Jan 25, 2020
OINP Nomination Letter - Apr 22, 2020
Express Entry Turned Ineligible - Apr 22, 2020

Questions:
1. Do I create a new Express Entry profile?
2. If I create a new EE profile, what will happen to my OINP nomination (as it was based on previous EE profile)?
3. Whom do I contact for this issue? Is it the IRCC or the Provincial govt?

Any assistance or sharing your experience will greatly help.

Thank You.

Hi,
Good question. I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the procedure, i.e. the nomination means you do not have to accept it. But that is just a wild guess on my part. The first thing I would do is take a breath a wait a few days, see if anything changes.

As you know, things are complicated right now. We're not sure how many people are actually working "in" the call centre. (Are people able to work from home??) IRCC's call centre is hard to get through at the best of times, and that is not right now. You can call them 1-888-242-2100 but good luck getting anyone.

If you believe it's a technical glitch, you can try reaching them here: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=799&top=23

You can contact the OINP here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/oinp-tech-draws#section-4 Again, how many people are able to work is unknown so you may not get through or may not get a response for some time.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

Thanks for your response.

Given all that's going on in the world, I totally agree with the govt not being fully functional. I did try calling the IRCC and OINP directly with no luck.

I have emailed OINP explaining what's going on and requested them for the next steps. I then filled out the webform (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx) under "Technical Difficulties".

I'm awaiting responses from both IRCC and OINP. I will update here as soon as I hear something from them. :)

Thanks for keeping us posted and I hope you get an answer sooner rather than later. (Ideally, I hope you just get your ITA.)
