Hi Friends,

I called IRCC and was told my BGC has been sent to Senegal. I sent them an email through the webform and also directly usingtheir email on the website and it has been over a month I have not heard from the CanadianEmbassy in Dakar. I am going to 9 months after my application for PR.
The status of my application is as follow:

Background check: we are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more infromation.

Final decision: your application is in progress.We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Does anybody have an idea of the BGC processing time in Senegal?

Awhile ago IRCC made individual office processing time information private. It's possible this is an issue with the Dakar office but it's hard to know. There is a site out there that crowd-sources information which may give some idea about the processing time for a background check in Senegal, https://myimmitracker.com/

Since you're in Canada, you can also try calling IRCC at 1-888-242-2100, though they're likely to tell you the exact same thing as your status check.

The other option is to request to see the GMCS notes.
