Hi everyone, this is my situation, I was hoping someone can help me out.
My fiancee (Canadian) and I (Vietnamese) are getting married this April in Vietnam and will be flying to Canada together in May (via my TRV). Is it possible if i tell the border officials the truth that I'm gonna do another wedding in Canada and will go back to Vietnam if my application gets rejected (i have a return ticket in Sep), would they let me in the country or would they refuse and send me back to Vietnam right away ?
Anyone successfully got accepted to enter Canada if you are telling the border officials that the purpose of your visit is to get married in Canada ?
Im looking forward to hearing your advice. Thank you so much for your time and your help.

Hi Christine,
They're supposed to, it's called dual intent (i.e. you intend to be a permanent resident unless your application is rejected and then you intend to comply with your temporary residence restrictions). But it's a delicate balancing act and I don't think it's easy.
