British?

I want to get a passport for my son, who was born in Canada. Apparently I need a birth certificate, but I wasn't born in Britain. I am a British citizen, but all I have is a certificate of naturalisation, which I got when I was a kid when my parents and I moved to Britain. Is my son British? Will they accept this?

If you naturalized and have remained a citizen, your child is most likely also British. One thing I should alert you to, though it's a little delicate, is that until recently you would have to have been married to your wife at the time of your son's birth. This all depends on how old your child is, as the law recently changed. If you were married at the time of his birth, and you never gave up your British citizenship, your son can apply for his first British passport.
