Is my daughter British?

I am Canadian, my now husband is British. Our daughter was born in 2001 in Canada before we were married. Because we were not married at the time we were told she could not get a British passport. I know the rules have since changed. But we did get married in 2003 in Canada. Can our daughter still apply for a British passport?

Thanks for the quick reply. Along the same line I also have this question then....

My dad was born in the UK and immigrated to Canada in 1955-ish. He became a Canadian citizen at some point, married my Mom and I was born. If I had his birth certificate would I also be eligible to apply for a British passport or is there a statute of limitations on this?

No, there's no statute of limitations, you should be British as long as your father didn't renounce his UK citizenship (and likely, he did not).
