Resettlement Funds & First Entry

Hi All,

Can someone share in detail how I can prove what is resettlement money at the time of first entry so that I am not taxed for it?
Details related to how to prove funds more than $10,000 will be appreciated.

I'm not sure why CRA would tax you for money you have already earned. You have to report that money - because Canada needs to know where it came from, as the government participates in international money laundering treaties) - but I don't know of any transfer tax. (Banks may charge your fees.)

Do you have a link to where you read this so I can have a look?
