Spousal Sponsorship

Hello,

I am a Canadian PR holder. I am married and my wife currently does not have a Canadian PR and lives in our home country India. After having stayed in Canada for 3 months I recently moved back to India as my wife is not keeping well.

I would like to know if I can sponsor my wife and process the dependent visa from India? Do I have to be physically present in Canada in order to process the dependent visa for my wife?

Could you please clarify the process.

You don't have to be physically present in Canada but it makes it much easier and much more likely for your application to succeed.

If you are still in India when you submit the application you need to prove your intention to move to Canada. In our experience these types of applications are rarely approved.
