In applying for a TRV, we need to fill out a family form that includes siblings (even half siblings and step siblings). My boyfriends parents divorced when he was 3 years old and his father has since had children with more than 3 different women. It will be very difficult to track down all the information on these people, if not impossible for some of them. What is the best way to approach this situation? Thanks

Hi there,
Here's what he needs to do:
  • List every half-sibling or step-sibling he is aware of, including as much information as he has (if all he has is a first name, that is better than nothing) and putting unknown for all things he doesn't know; he should use as many copies of the form as necessary to include all of these people.
  • He needs to write a letter explaining why he has so many half- and/or step-siblings and why he cannot provide the information for all of them.
It's important to this now, and not on a latter application. If he's up front about it, there shouldn't be any issue.

Hope this helps.
