So you're a refugee in Canada and you want to return to your country you claimed refugee status from?

If you do so, and it is discovered, you will lose your refugee status in Canada.
Hello,
I got my IMM 1000 landing paper after landing in Vancouver in 1996. I left Canada in 1997 and without applying for a Canada Permanent Resident (PR) Card.
In this regard, can I re-enter Canada by using my US Green Card and stay in Canada for two years so as to reinstate my residency by applying for a Canada PR Card after the fulfilment of 2years continues staying restriction? Thanks a lot!!

In my case I have two felonies in the United States, is it possible that I can still apply for Criminal Rehabilitation to enter Canada? My last felony was in April 2013 and I was deported in May 2010.

Sure, it is.

Given that it's two felonies you should wait until it's been 10 years since you've completed the last of your sentence. (Unless they would not be serious offences in Canada.)
Hi
is 486 a good score?
Thank you.

Yes, it's good. Provided you qualify for one of the three programs, Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class.

Which province you think is more suitable for New Teachers?

thank you in advance:)

That sounds like you qualify for FSW.

As for your teacher question, contact the provincial teacher unions for any provinces you are interested in and see if they can give you job demand statistics.
I was in Canada in the year 1993 on a PR and stayed there for 6 months and then returned to my country. It was hard to find a job those days and hence I returned. Now, to visit Canada, should I renounce my PR status before applying for a visitor visa? OR if I prefer, is it possible to re-validate my expired PR card? If yes, what is the process and how long it might take?

Thank you.

In normal circumstances you could try flying to the US and driving across the border and seeing if they would let you in with your Record of Landing. However, I don't know how possible that is currently.

Moreover, I've heard rumours that the CBSA (border agency) have started checking the dates of Records of Landing/COPRs for people doing this.

The safest thing is likely to renounce your PR status.
My spouse is in Canada on a work permit and I hold a dependent visa (visitor). I applied for open work permit in March 2020 and the last update I received on my application was in May, confirming the status of my medical examination.

If I travel to Canada when the travel restrictions are lifted, what will be the process to get my open work permit if my application is approved while I'm in Canada?

It depends how you applied. They may request your passport by mail, but that request will likely come from the visa office where your application was submitted (i.e. outside of Canada). They may also just require you to visit an IRCC office.

I'm sorry to say I think that's a question for a consultant (RCIC) or a lawyer. I think you're going to have to make a convincing case you will return home when your permit expires.

Thanks for answering. I guess I will have to prepare a good statement of purpose explaining what I was doing during the gap and also as you have said convince the visa officer that I will leave Canada once I am done with the Master's program.

It's a pretty bad time to be looking for a job in Canada, due to the pandemic. You should check out both private job boards and the national one (Job Bank).

Sure ! Thanks for the help.

The advantage with CANADA is .... that if you have a job in hand PR is so easy and also that just because you are at a foreign land doesn't mean that hiring you is like hiring an expat.

Is any job that you ( not a person authorised to work in Canada ) get has to be LIMA + than only you get Work permit?
Can you skip the step of getting the Work permit and straight away get PR after you get a JOB?

If the document is produced by the university, they need to send it.
You always get a strange feeling when you are about to leave a place, like you’ll not miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again
