I've met a man in Canada while he's here working for his 14th year as an agricultural worker close to my town. We have discussed marriage and I'm wondering if anyone knows if it would be legal to marry him when he is here in the country next year? At that time I will have known him for over a year and I plan to travel to Jamaica and spend an extended time with him there to meet his family and make sure we would be able to sustain the farm that he has there. We don't want to rush into anything but certainly want to make sure we have looked into all avenues before we march down the aisle. I want to make sure that he does not have to return to Jamaica when we are married and that I have all the correct paperwork in order.
