I was denied a Visa for previous cannabis convictions and would have to wait 10 years to reapply. Now that Canada has legalised cannabis can I reapply now even though 10 years has not expired?
That is a very good question. My guess would be yes, provided you are "Criminally Rehabilitated", as Canada generally has the standard that it only considers convictions as grounds for inadmissibility if those convictions would exist in Canadian law.
But you should probably get an RCIC or lawyer to help you with it, to make sure you apply for Criminal Rehabilitation correctly.
