Hi,

I applied for PR throught the spousal sponsorship (outside canada) in Oct 2014. In Dec 2014, we received notice that my sponsor was approved, and that my PR application was to be sent to the Ottawa office (despite me applying from Australia).

Since Dec 2014, whenever I checked my status online, the status was "Application Received". This changed last week to "In process". Does this give any indication as to how close the application is to being approved (assuming all documents are correct etc)?

Unfortunately, it doesn't really. I mean, it's good that it's being processed, but it just means that it's with the officer, and doesn't give you any time ideas. Right now, average processing time for the Sydney office is 11 months, so that puts you at November.
