Moving web pages from ‘Paid Service’ to ‘Research a Topic’ is easy.

First, you will need to select the post you want to convert
Image 1: This is a sample of the ‘Service’ that belong to ‘newsroom Marriage Documents Philippines’

image.png

If you click ‘Edit’ or ‘Quick Edit’ when seeing a post (see the screenshot below):
Image 2: This is what the screen looks like when you click ‘Quick Edit’. You should see ‘Post Type’. The current post belongs to ‘Service’, you just need to assign it to ‘Post’.

image.png

  • Don’t forget to click ‘Update’ to save the changes you made.
  • Now the post will be converted from ‘Service’ to News/Topic.

Topics/Services on the homepage

Go here to edit the front page: https://immigroup.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2630&action=edit
Scroll down and you will see the screenshot below:

image.png

Topics and Services have similar settings. Take a look at the following:
1. Show Navigation: Toggle to show/hide navigation
2. Show Topic by Category: Toggle to show by category
If this toggle is ON, you can select topics from selected categories (eg: Border Topics, Documents in Canada, etc.), you can also change the Number of Topics per Category (currently shown as 3). The query will show 3 latest topics from selected categories.
If you select OFF, the mode allows you to select the topics manually by selecting the post from the left column (see the screenshot below):

image.png

This is based on your request that you want to be able to pick whichever topics/services on the homepage.

  • Again, the same settings as I mentioned above can be applied to ‘Services’ as well.

404’s

This is what I’ve done so far:
  • Redirect all /news/XXXX to /topics/XXXX
  • Redirect /marying-and-sponsoring-XXXX to  /service/marying-and-sponsoring-XXXX
  • Add some redirection manually (based on the 404 log)
You can fix them and I will show you the steps:

image.png

2. Let’s say, you want to change /brazil-visa since immigroup.com/brazil-visa will return 404. Hover on ‘/brazil-visa’

image.png

You should see ‘Add Redirect’, click it. Make sure you know the actual URL (i.e.: immigroup.com/service/brazil-visa). You will see a popup.
Source URL: /brazil-visa  (Leave it)
Query Parameters: Exact match in any order (Leave it)
Target URL: /service/brazil-visa/ (Make sure this is the actual URL! Test it first by typing immigroup.com/service/brazil-visa)
Group:
Redirection (Leave it)
Delete Log Entries: Check (The entries will be deleted from 404 error log)
Click ‘Add Redirect’
image.png
3. Repeat this process on all posts. Leave any errors that refer to javacript or images files.
4. Sometimes you have to repeat the same process for ‘/brazil-visa/’ (see the trailing slash at the end)
5. Another example, ‘/canada-visitor-visa’ returns 404. However, ‘/service/canada-visitor-visa’ or ‘topics/canada-visitor-visa’ also return 404. Apparently you have changed the URL for that post to ‘/service/visitor-visa-2 (as you can see from https://www.immigroup.com/service/#visiting). So, the Target URL for that URL would be ”/service/visitor-visa-2′. BTW, ‘/service/visitor-visa’ also exists, you have to decide which post you want to use!

Image SEO for your website

Note: This guide is not about building a website but building blog content on your webpages.

  • Use JPG or PNG only
  • SVG is for logos
  • Image file name
  1. short & descriptive
  2. No capitals letters, no symbols or signs

Example: swimming-in-lake-ontario.jpg

  1. Be consistent with all your image sizes on your website
  • Square image – 1:1
  • Wide images – 16:9

  • Image Resolution
  • Max. Width 1000px

  • Image Info (photoshop) – Alt + F9 to run the program
  • Copyright status (more info) – we are using CC BY-ND
  • In Adobe Photoshop go to File > Export > Save for Web (shortcut is Alt + Shift + Control + I)

Example:

CC BY-ND: This license allows reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in unadapted form only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use.

CC BY-ND includes the following elements:

Headings

<h3>h3. This is a medium header.</h3>
<h4>h4. This is a moderate header.</h4>
<h5>h5. This is a small header.</h5>
<h6>h6. This is a tiny header.</h6>

h1. This is a very large header.

h2. This is a large header.

h3. This is a medium header.

h4. This is a moderate header.

h5. This is a small header.
h6. This is a tiny header.

Avoid skipping heading levels when structuring your document, as it confuses screen readers. For example, after using an <h2> in your code, the next heading used should be either <h2> or <h3>. If you just want to show a bigger/smaller font size based on the heading, use class instead, e.g.: <div class="h1">.

<h1 class="h2">This is h1 with h2 size.</h1>
<h2 class="h1">This is h2 with h1 size.</h2>
<div class="h3">This is div with h3 size.</div>

This is h1 with h2 size.

This is h2 with h1 size.

This is div with h3 size.

Body

You need not add a paragraph tag, unless you’d like to create additional styles. When doing so, the html code is:

<hr>
<h2>To be or not to be...</h2>
<p>My name is <a href="#">Caius Marcius</a>,
who hath done. To thee particularly and to all the Volsces. Great hurt
and mischief; thereto witness may. My surname, Coriolanus. The painful
service, The extreme dangers, and the drops of blood. Shed for my
thankless country are requited. But with that surname -- a good memory,
And witness of the malice and displeasure.</p>

<p>Which thou shouldst bear me. Only that name remains. The cruelty and
envy of the people, Permitted by our dastard nobles, who Have all forsook me,
hath devoured the rest; And suffered me by th' voice of slaves to be Whooped
out of Rome. Now this extremity Hath brought me to thy hearth, not out of hope--
Mistake me not -- to save my life; for if I had feared death, of all the men
i' th' world.</p>

If the size of the table is normal, the default width is always 100% to make it responsive.
