Hi,
My boyfriend is from Mexico and we have knows eachother for a couple of years. He was accepted a visitors visa with multiple entries and came to visit me. We got engaged and are now looking at what we will have to do to get married. But I have a couple of questions...
1. When he came into Canada the border patrol gave him a piece of paper that he has to return to the CBSA front desk that says he cannot work, study, and must leave Canada on the date of his departure or he will be arrested. This worries me because what if the next time he comes through to Canada again they give him the same paper. Will we still be able to get married? Or will he still have to leave?
2. From my understanding, all of his identification and documents must be translated to English. Would this need to be done in Canada? Or can he translate it from Mexico? And what documents exactly would he need translated?
3. When I sponsor him, are there requirements that I must meet as a Canadian citizen?
Any advice or tips would be great on how to make the process move more smoothly and what steps we should take.
Thanks!
