You need to get an ECA for your degree or diploma: https://www.immigroup.com/news/educational-credential-assessment-eca-express-entry

There may be a forum on the internet somewhere where people are publicly sharing their experiences and maybe be able to help you guess what equivalent Canadian degree you'd be credited.

For your work experience, just complete an Express Entry profile and it will show you the points.

Well, in order to find if your education and work experience are up to the Canadian standards, you need to first submit your ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) report, assessed from a relevant authority such as WES (World Education Services). An ECA report reflects that your current education perfectly matches the Canadian education standards.

For work experience, you need to find what your NOC code is and whether your experience matches the job and duties mentioned or not. So, prior to applying, search which NOC code best suits your existing profession and then have a look at the duties and responsibilities so that you don’t face any hassle in between.

Thank you so much for your advice! I had the same question. Does the request have to be submitted before entering the country or can it be done afterwards? Does it make a difference and is it relevant today?

If you're looking to find out what your education and work experience is equivalent to in Canada, here are some steps from david baazov you can follow:

Research the National Occupational Classification (NOC): The NOC is a system used in Canada to classify jobs and occupations. You can use the NOC to find out what skills and qualifications are required for different occupations.

Assess your education: Look at your educational qualifications and compare them to the Canadian education system. You can use the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) to get an assessment of your credentials.

Assess your work experience: Look at your work experience and compare it to the Canadian job market. You can use the NOC to find out what skills and experience are required for different jobs.

Use the Canadian government's credential recognition resources: The Canadian government has resources available to help immigrants and newcomers to Canada with credential recognition. These resources include the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) and the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC).

Consider additional education or training: Depending on your assessment, you may need to take additional education or training to meet Canadian standards. You can use the Canadian government's Job Bank to find out what types of education and training are available in your area.

By following these steps, you should be able to get a better understanding of what your education and work experience is equivalent to in Canada. Good luck!
