Closed Work permit is expiring in July. Employer not ready to extend

Hi,
My current closed work permit expires by end of July and my employer is not ready to extend due to some issue at his end. I want to stay in Canada, is there a way?

You have two possible options to the best of my knowledge:

• Find another employer willing to apply for an LMIA for you (not an easy thing during the pandemic)
• See if you could change your status to student (you'd have to get accepted into a qualifying program and institution) or visitor.

Unless your job is skilled and you've worked here for a year or more, then you could apply for PR.
