Plants in Canada

The idea that Canada is covered in snow is a myth. Yes, we had a really cold winter here, but much of Canada - at least the populated part - experiences all four seasons. Permafrost - where the ground is actually frozen and plants cannot grow - doesn't cover that much of the country and it actually retreats in summer. This map shows its extent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Circum-Arctic_Map_of_Permafrost_and_Ground_Ice_Conditions.png Everywhere else in Canada we have literally trillions of plants.
