PR renewal Card is under further verification at Sydney CUstomer service unit

All,

I submitted by application for PR card renewal but CIC told me it was sent to the CUstomer Service unit in Sydney for further verification.
What does that mean?
How long does this verification take?
What is exactly that they verify? the copies of the passports and stamps are with them already - so what further verification do they require?

More than likely this means you are getting a Residence Questionnaire (RQ) or your file is being investigated (may or may not entail an RQ).

Normally, the Residence Questionnaire is mailed to you within 30 days of your file being sent for verification. If you don't get one within 30 days, there is indeed a chance that you are not getting one.
