Work permit

I'm currently processing a work permit from Nigeria through an agent who claim to be affiliated to a company in Canada that often brings in people to work in Canada for a duration of like 1 year. I've paid for visa fee and also submitted my passport photograph, international passport data page(scanned copy), email address. I was recently contacted that the embassy now requires statement of account (3 month) minimum that this is a new requirement. I did submit that immediately it was requested. Later I was told the closing balance is very low and that the embassy insist on me having enough funds.

My Question is:

1.) Should I be worried about this 2.) Has anyone on this forum experience something like this.

Please I need advise. Don't be judgemental. We are all trying to make the best of our lives.
