Inland spousal sponsorship

Hi,
I am Canadian citizen and I Applied for “in Canada spousal sponsorship” for my husband. We left Canada together before betting the PR/final decision.
Can we be outside Canada when receiving the final decision for the PR? How would this play when entering Canada again provided we receiver the PR?

When coming back you will simply be a visitor. You will only get the PR, when you are finally back in Canada and pick it up officially.
