The British Columbia international student category is for persons who have recently graduated from a post-secondary institution in British Columbia and would like to apply for permanent residency. Candidates must have received their degree or diploma before accepting an offer of employment.

BC PNP International Student Application Priority

International students considering to be nominated must submit their application within one year of completing post-secondary studies. To qualify for the British Columbia International student category of provincial nomination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed a post-secondary education obtained in British Columbia from a recognized institution
  • Have spent a minimum of two years in a British Columbia school for a bachelor’s degree, and one year in a British Columbia school for a graduate degree. Studies for a diploma must have been completed in British Columbia
  • The following are considered eligible degrees for consideration under this stream:
    • Natural sciences, applied sciences or engineering
    • Health sciences;
    • Computer science, information systems or digital media;
    • Business or commerce;
    • Tourism, recreation and hospitality
    • Transportation and logistics
  • The following are considered eligible programs for a 2-year diploma:
    • Applied sciences or technologies, or engineering
    • Health sciences or technologies
    • Computer science or technology, information systems or digital media
    • Business or commerce
    • Tourism, recreation and hospitality
    • Transportation and logistics

The government of British Columbia has the authority to accept other diplomas that are not listed here.

  • Earn at least a B+ (70 percent) in the program of study;
  • Include the reference of a faculty member such as a professor or program administer with the application;
  • Have a job offer that is listed in the national Occupational Classification Matrix in the 0, A, or B skill levels.

At your consultation appointment, we will ask you additional qualifying questions, and answer any questions you may have. We charge a fee of CDN $150 + HST for this consultation. This fee will be deducted from our total fees if you retain our services.

 

British Colombia International Student Program Fees

The fees for an application for the British Colombia International Student program are as follows:

Right of permanent residence fee CDN $490 *

* Government fees are based on only one person in the application. Fees will vary depending on number of persons included in application. Applicants may be required to pay additional fees for medical exams, police certificates, language assessments, courier fees or adding dependents to the application.

Form for Employers
Fee Payment Form:
Use this form to pay the $550 application fee
Permanent Residence Application: 4-12 months
Application For Permanent Residence:
Principal application form for Permanent Residence.
Schedule 1:
Must be completed by each person over the age of 18 who is included in the application
Aditional Family Information:
This form asks that the main applicant provide information about his/her family.
Schedule 4 [economic class]:
Provincial nominees must complete this form along with all other required forms for permanent residency

In order to be issued a visa, all candidates must meet criminal and medical admissibility requirements. Applicants considered inadmissible to Canada  may be denied a visa.

Applications of applicants in Canada will be processed by the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, NY. The applicant may be required to attend an interview at the Consulate in Buffalo or in Seattle. Requirements for residency applications may vary depending on the country of citizenship of the applicant.
