PEI in Canada

P.E.I is located on the east coast of Canada and is connected to the mainland by the Confederation Bridge . It is one of the three Maritime provinces and is the smallest province in both land area and population. The Island is a place of natural beauty where the air and water are fresh and clean.

 

Industries of PEI

The provincial economy is dominated by the seasonal industries of agriculture, tourism, and the fishery. The province is limited in terms of heavy industry and manufacturing. Agriculture remains the dominant industry in the province, with one third of Canada’s potato production coming from P.E.I.

 

Climate of PEI

During July and August, the average daytime high in P.E.I is 23ºC, however, the temperature can sometimes exceed 30ºC  during these months. In the winter months of January and February, the average daytime high is -3ºC. The Island receives an average yearly rainfall of 855 mm and an average yearly snowfall of 285 cm. The island usually has many storms (which may produce rain as well as snow) and blizzards.

This Program is designed to support the Island’s economic growth by attracting foreign workers to the province. Individuals nominated by the province, together with their spouse and dependent children, are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa as a Provincial Nominee.
